City of Floating Sounds invites you to travel through the city listening to fragments of Huang Ruo's new symphony before its world premiere at Aviva Studios. You can make your own way to the venue or join in at one of our suggested starting places. This route begins in Ordsall Park.
At 1.3 miles, this is the longest route, suitable for those comfortable travelling slightly longer distances and moving at a slightly quicker pace. The average walking time according to Google Maps is 27 minutes.
The route begins in the beautiful Ordsall Park, in a residential area away from the city centre. The journey continues via Ordsall Road, mixing quiet residential streets with a flavour of a busier city environment.
The final leg of the route switches it up again, guiding you away from the urban environment and alongside a scenic canal side on the final stretch towards Aviva Studios, accessed via the Ordsall Footbridge.
This route is not recommended for wheelchair users as there is some uneven terrain along a canal path. You can see a video of this route here.
Wheelchair users may prefer the ‘Choose your own path’ option which may allow for a more comfortable, adaptable experience – please see more details under the ticket booking options.
