Tap into your creative side this summer with our free, drop-in workshops for young people

Join us at Aviva Studios this summer for a series of creative workshops for young people – as part of Factory International’s summer programme.

These are not your average workshops. Upcycle a t-shirt, learn how to street dance or get lost in psychedelic drawing inspired by our blockbuster Yayoi Kusama: You, Me and the Balloons exhibition – all while mingling and mixing with fellow young creatives.

You don’t need a ticket – just drop by from 4pm, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. The bar is open throughout, so you can enjoy food and drink as the sun goes down.

Workshops have been specially designed by Factory International’s Creative Learning team and are intended for young people aged 14 to 30.

Schedule

Kusama T-Shirts, Tuesday 1 and 8 August, 4–8pm

Embrace individuality and sustainability with our upcycling workshop. Transform your preloved t-shirts into psychedelic, Kusama-inspired creations.

Photography and videography, Wednesday 2 August, 4–8pm

Learn how to produce still images that can be used in film, with a workshop focused on architecture and the surrounding natural area.

Soul and Hip Hop Storytelling, Sunday 6 August, 4–8pm

Explore the power of empathy in hip hop and soul music and how this can apply in our everyday lives, in this introspective workshop on storytelling, identity and music.

Psychedelic Drawing and Music, Sunday 13 August, 4–8pm

Create your own abstract psychedelic artwork inspired by Yayoi Kusama: You, Me and the Balloons. Meet fellow young creatives and share your psychedelic creations.

An Evening of Poetry, Wednesday 9 August, 4–8pm

Join us for an evening of poetry inspired by Kusama’s love of words. Write your own poems and share with fellow young creatives.

I M Pact Dance Workshop, Tuesday 15 August and Sunday 20 August, 4–8pm

Join dance community group I M Pact for a workshop that explores the underground world of freestyle dance.

Sip & Paint with a touch of Culture, Wednesday 16 August, 4–8pm

Get inspired by African print fabrics with this sip and paint session – plus Afrobeats music and poetry.
