Make sure you have everything you need – we are going on a journey. One that will take us along travel routes dusted with the scent of spices and the taste of fresh dates as we return towards infinite possibilities and knowledge in 12th-century Baghdad and the Library of Alexandria.
This is the ever-expanding dream space of award-winning Palestinian playwright and director, Amir Nizar Zuabi. He is the founding Artistic Director of ShiberHur Theater Company in Palestine, an Associate Director of the Young Vic Theatre, a member of the United Theaters Europe for artistic achievement, and an alumni of The Sundance Institute Theatre Program. His latest project is The Herds: the journey of hundreds of life-size puppet animals from West Africa to Norway fleeing climate disaster.
Dream Space is a Reduced Listening production for Factory International, hosted by Gemma Cairney. This episode was produced by Tess Davidson, with sound design by Femi Oriogun-Williams, and theme music by Andrew PM Hunt.
