As the founding Director of ShiberHur Theater Company in Palestine, Amir Nizar Zuabi recently spoke with us to discuss his experience of living through times of upheaval as an artist.

Zuabi is Artistic Director of The Walk Productions Limited, which created MIF21’s The Walk - the epic 8000km journey of Little Amal, a nine-year-old refugee girl in the form of a 3.5 metre puppet, that began at the Turkish-Syrian border and came to a close in Manchester.

His next project, The Herds, begins in Spring 2025, which follows the journey of hundreds of life-size puppet animals from West Africa to Norway fleeing climate disaster.
