Master the five elements of Vogue Femme in a free workshop facilitated by legendary Founding Mother Jaycee Iman

Darling, get ready to dive deep into the art of Vogue Femme with none other than Legendary Founding Mother Jaycee Iman, one of the iconic pioneers of Aotearoa’s ballroom scene.

This workshop is about more than just learning the moves – it’s about embracing the heart of ballroom, a culture that was born out of Black and Latinx LGBTQIA+ communities in Harlem. From the late ‘80s to now, Vogue Femme has been a symbol of gender expression, liberation, and unapologetic power.

Whether you're new to the floor or an experienced queen, this is your chance to grow, express, and connect. We’ll honour those who laid the foundation, while moving forward as a collective force. Come ready to learn, create, and move in the spirit of unity, love, and empowerment. The floor is calling – are you ready to answer?

TALANOA (Conversation)

This event is part of the TALANOA programme, expanding on the world of cultural storytelling explored in the FALE SĀ / SACRED HOUSE. The TALANOA programme is supported by the British Council New Zealand and the Pacific.

Talanoa is a Samoan term commonly understood among Pacific cultures as conversation or dialogue. In FALE SĀ / SACRED HOUSE, TALANOA frames a rich public programme of discussions, conversations and films.
