Inspired by our long-running Festival in My House series, we invited Manchester artists to create and present their own micro-international festivals in their homes – and then stream them for us and you online, live and for free. The series premiered with an irreverent blend of comedy and performance from a former MIF Jerwood Fellow and performance artist…
Chanje Kunda was set to tour her new show Plant Fetish when the COVID-19 lockdown hit. A neuro-diverse artist with post-traumatic stress disorder, she recognises how a lockdown is hard on people living with disability – but also understands that through creativity, she can give something positive to the world.
When Chanje realised that the everyday angst she felt when going to the shops to buy toilet paper was now an international crisis, the result was Toilet Roll Gate Retrospective – a singular spoof show exploring all things toilet paper, and the first-ever all-digital, online-only Festival in My House… And Yours.
