Smokey Robinson

Feted by Bob Dylan as ‘America’s greatest living poet’, Smokey Robinson made an extremely rare visit to Manchester for a one-off show at MIF07. In front of a full house at The Bridgewater Hall, Robinson rewarded his fans with a hit-packed evening that took in four decades of classics, including I Second that Emotion and an unforgettable account of Tracks of My Tears.

‘To watch Robinson squeezing out the words – eyes closed, body arched – is to watch singing genius’ The Guardian

Produced by Manchester International Festival.
