Clean air champions LIVE + BREATHE invite you to celebrate your local area and the things you love to do outdoors – while championing the importance of health in doing what you love
In this workshop led by LIVE + BREATHE founder Love Ssega, learn how art, artists and cultural institutions can be used to celebrate and amplify community-led organisations and voices.
Community partners have included Poetic Unity, Neon Performing Arts, Cece Roller Skates, Peckham BMX and Peaceballers who all featured in campaign films directed by Ramone Anderson. These films have been screened to all audiences from Peckham Levels to Royal Opera House, Royal Festival Hall with Philharmonia Orchestra to Billie Eilish’s Overheated at The O2.
For The Fête of Britain, Love Ssega has invited special guests from London College of Communication (UAL), whose Design School has teamed up with LIVE + BREATHE for this year. Over 150 students presented 30 presentations for the LIVE + BREATHE’s community partners. We hope this can inspire local communities in the North West to reach out to arts institutions and colleges to turbocharge their own creative climate campaigns.
The Fête of Britain is a four-day celebration of collaboration and imagination in the face of the great challenges of our time. From the climate crisis to the cost of living, nothing is off the table. The Fête of Britain takes over Aviva Studios from 22 to 25 February. Find out more: The Fête of Britain
