Try hip hop dance in these free classes led by the team from Boy Blue

Join one of our open dance classes taught by Boy Blue, the dance company working on our Matrix-themed opening show Free Your Mind.

Whether you’re into hip hop dance and want to learn from the best or just fancy trying something new, it’s a chance to develop new skills and get inspired by choreographers from one of the UK’s most exciting dance companies.

The classes are open to anyone aged 16 and over, whatever your fitness or movement level, and no professional or prior dance experience is required. Just bag a free ticket to one of the four sessions to reserve your spot.

Founded by producer Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante and choreographer Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy, Boy Blue are an award-winning dance company. Known for their pushing forward hip hop dance, they’ve worked on everything from film and huge theatre shows to the 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony in London. Along with director Danny Boyle, set designer Es Devlin and writer Sabrina Mahfouz, Mikey and Kenrick are bringing the iconic sci-fi film The Matrix to Manchester in our huge opening show Free Your Mind.

Just bring some water to stay hydrated and a snack to boost your energy.

To make sure everyone gets a chance to try out hip hop dance, we recommend only booking one session.

The classes are for anyone aged 16 and over. If you’re under 18, parental or guardian consent is required to come along. Please book a 16-18 ticket type and we’ll be in touch about getting the right consent in place.
