A bona fide legend joined us for the afternoon in Festival Square. Norman Jay MBE has been bringing Good Times to dancefloors up and down the country for decades, and he joined DJ Paulette for an hour of conversation and brilliant tunes as part of our Records of Reflection series.

Before Norman, we had the second Midday Meditation (also Fri 2, Wed 7, Fri 9 & Mon 12 July), tunes and a life-drawing class from the cheekily provocative Club Clam, and a laid-back set from singer-songwriter Marco Woolf. Then into the evening, sets from two brilliant young Manchester R&B acts, Akemi Fox and Pip Millett, were followed by a more-than-welcome return to the Festival Square DJ booth from Dave Haslam.
