Dark Matter got off to a flyer with a night of made-in-Manchester mayhem. Described by one of their number as ‘Wu-Tang meets the Happy Mondays’ LEVELZ run the roads in the city – and on the opening night of MIF17, the full 14-strong crew of DJs, MCs and producers stormed Gorilla for a full-blown takeover, serving up an incendiary cocktail of grime, hip hop and much more besides.
Curated by Mary Anne Hobbs for MIF17, Dark Matter was eight immersive shows from pioneering national, international and Manchester-based musicians.
