Gozo Yoshimasu (b. 1939, Japan)
Gozo Yoshimasuis a pioneer of unexplored linguistic landscapes in modern Japanese poetry. Repetitions, references, talking in many voices, interruptions, subscripts, blank lines and marginal notes introduce intentional disruptions in his work, and at the same time, highlight the effect and visual representation of the Japanese language. Yoshimasu has published more than 30 collections of poetry and is considered a key figure in contemporary Japanese poetry.
