Performers at Festival Square

What we're looking for

The main things we ask are:

- That your work’s of a good performance standard;

- that it’s original;

- that it will inspire audiences;

- and most importantly, create an uplifting environment that celebrates the breadth of talent in Greater Manchester.

Representation is important to us, and we actively encourage applications from people who reflect the diversity of our city.

We want to connect with performers and musicians from all areas of Greater Manchester, those of perceived marginalised communities and the broadest range of lived experiences available.

FAQs

Will this performance be paid?

We have a fee of £300 to give to each successful live performance.

How long are the performances?

They are 30 minutes each.

What’s the set up?

We’ll have a basic backline that we encourage everyone to use. Due to the nature of the site and the programme there will be a very minimal soundcheck time and so be prepared for this in advance.

All performances take place on a stage no larger than 6m x 5m, so please consider what’s possible – we can work with you on this too, if you have an idea you want to explore.

I don’t feel like my category is represented?

Select Other and tell us how you would describe yourself.

Will travel costs be covered?

Unfortunately travel costs are not covered, so need to be considered within the performance fee.

When will I find out?

Everyone will find out whether their application has been successful the week of 3 April.
