Yalin CHEN

CHEN was born in Hunan, China. She graduated from Nanchang Hangkong University and majored in dance. She joined Xiexin Dance Theater in 2021. She participated in the company’s works including From IN, T.I.M.E, Entropy and The Ark. She won the first prize at the Hunan Art Skill Competition and the first Nanchang Dance Competition. In 2020, she participated in Guo Rui’s work The Body Being Read. In 2021, she participated in Shenzhen Modern Dance Platform – Peng Yu Contemporary Dance Company’s work Realm.

Haiqing HU

HU was born in Jiangxi, China. She graduated from Hebei University and majored in dance education. She joined Xiexin Dance Theater in Sepember 2021. She participated in the company’s works including From IN, T.I.M.E, Entropy and The Ark. She was the rehearsal director of Banshan Dancers Ensemble in Hunan from 2018 to 2020, when she performed most of the repertoires. She participated in the second Top Ten Leading Dancers of six provinces (regions) in Central and Southern China Performance Competition and won the Outstanding Dancer award.

Siyuan MA

MA was born in Ningxia, China. He graduated from the Central University of Nationalities and joined Xiexin Dance Theater in October 2019. In 2018, he won the Silver Award in the sixth North China Modern Dance Competition (Youth Group). He won the Bronze Award with his work Firewood in the 15th Beijing Dance Competition in July 2017. In 2017, he won the Silver Award in the Ningxia Dance Performance Contest for his dance work Sha Xian. He won the gold medal in the Beijing Ballroom Dance Competition in 2016 and the gold medal in the Handan Ballroom Dance Competition in 2017.

Linhao QIN

QIN was born in Hunan, China. She graduated from Beijing Normal University and majored in dance. She joined Xiexin Dance Theater in 2022. She participated in the company's works including From IN, T.I.M.E, Entropy and The Ark. She won the Silver Award at the 13th Singapore International Dance Festival, she directed and performed in the dance video entitled CITY GUEST, which won the Dare to Dance in Public Film Festival (D2D) Award for Best Use of Location and was screened at the Glorya Kaufman Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and will also be part of the 20th InShadow Festival Installation screening unit.

Shaoyu WANG

WANG was born in Shanxi, China. He graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy and majored in ballroom dance and joined Xiexin Dance Theater in 2020. He participated in the company’s works including From IN, T.I.M.E, Reflection, UNKNOWN, Harmonic Series and Entropy. In 2019, he attended Nederlands Dans Theater’s Summer Intensive. He won the championship of Ballroom Dance Decathlon A (Latin and Modern) in the Chengdu Station of the National Ballroom Dance Championship. He participated in the ballroom dance work entitled Yellow River as a lead dancer in the National Dance Exhibition.

Junkai XU

XU was born in Chongqing, China. He graduated from Central Academy of Drama and majored in dance drama. He joined Xiexin Dance Theater in September 2022. He participated in the company’s works including From IN, T.I.M.E and The Ark. He participated in the emblem display section of the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Paralympic in Beijing. He performed in the multimedia project entitled Two Men in BeijingDance/LDTX Theatre in 2021. He performed in the immersive theatre project named Two Men & New Intimacy in Jiade Arts Center.

Geet Das

Geet Das is an international performer at the Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC) and an instructor at the Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute (TLPTI). Geet is trained in hip hop, ballet, jazz and contemporary. He has done the Diploma in Dance Foundation Course (DIDFC) course and was one of the toppers from his DIDFC 15 batch. Geet is also a part of a contemporary artistic dance unit, PAARADOX. He has done a lot of commercial and conceptual shows in both India and abroad.

Ganesh Katara

Ganesh is a Bangalore-based contemporary dance practitioner and performer. He has nine years of experience in dance and movement arts and has performed on various stages across India in the following cities: Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. In his movement arts practices, he follows the physical and mindful aspects of training, leading through various technical disciplines such as passing through, flying low, capoeira (the Afro-Brazilian martial art), improvisational ideas and creative tools to work with the body and its exploratory possibilities. His core practice comes from acrobatics, ground movement and the urge to explore one’s curiosity about the human body, mind and spirit. As a performer, he believes that our life itself is a performance on such a huge canvas that we call it planet Earth.

Susanket Mishra

Susanket Mishra is a Mumbai-based performer who has performed shows nationally and internationally. Mishra has a diploma in the Indian classical dance Odissi and experience of reality shows as a contestant on Dance India Dance Li’l Masters top ten. He holds the Guinness World Record for most head and body revolutions and was the winner of regional reality TV show Dance Odisha Dance Li’l Masters as well as an India’s Got Talent semi-finalist. Professionally trained and working for Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company, Mishra has appeared in Bollywood movies and musicals, working in the Bollywood industry for the past two to three years. He has completed more than 2,000 shows around the world and has experience of award shows including the International Film Festival of India and Filmfare Awards as well as Indian music festivals.

Vasundhara Negi

Vasundhara Negi is an international dancer. She is one of the founding members of Navdhara India Dance Theater (NIDT) and has performed extensively as a leading principal soloist at NIDT. Trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, Kathak, Prana Paint and Bollywood. Vasundhara started her dance education in New Delhi in 2012 under the guidance of internationally acclaimed director/choreographer Ashley Lobo. Vasundhara has performed on numerous prestigious platforms including Tanzmesse Festival and Kampnagel (Germany), Suzanne Dellal (Tel Aviv), Cervantino Festival (Mexico), Shanghai International Contemporary Dance Festival, Magnolia Theatre (China), Jamshed Bhabha Theatre and Royal Opera House (Mumbai), and Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa) to name a few, and has also performed in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, South Africa and multiple cities across China and Canada.

Along with dancing, Vasundhara has also co-headed the Professional Dance Certificate
Programme at The Danceworx (Delhi) and trains aspiring professionals. She is a visiting faculty member at The Danceworx in Delhi and Mumbai and helps in training the company. She is also a visiting faculty member at Vibrations studio (Dehradun) and is contributing towards providing training, guidance and opportunities to artists with limited resources. As an
actor-dancer, Vasundhara has done multiple music videos and has assisted Ashley Lobo in workshops for Bollywood actors.

Pratik Surve

Pratik Surve is a Mumbai-based Contemporary dancer. He started training at the Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company. He joined the diploma course in 2013 and ended up acing his batch. He was appointed as a teacher in the same company and has been choreographing, performing and teaching there for seven years. He has assisted Terence Lewis with a lot of projects and has also been a part of a lot of international projects under the same company. As an integral part of PAARA-DOX, the contemporary performing unit of Terence Lewis Inc, Surve went on to perform for the company’s productions, Scrambled Eggs, Shoonya and The Kamshet Project. The Kamshet Projectwas performed at the prestigious ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival in 2017. They also performed at NCPA, Mumbai, the Village Festival in Bangalore and at the Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa. Surve has trained under David Zambrano on flying low, passing through and spontaneous improvisation techniques. He has kept working on his craft by travelling and training in different countries. He has performed solos and production group pieces globally in places including Delhi, Vienna, Brussels and Croatia.

Surve was also one of the finalists of a very well-known Indian reality TV dance show Dance Plus, season 6. Currently working as an assistant choreographer, he has worked under esteemed Bollywood choreographers for movies, TV, web series and reality shows. Recently, Surve worked as a mentor for a theatrical performance, Awoken Pillow, inNepal. He is also one of the co-founders and creators of Partner Dance Festival, where he teaches the passing through technique of David Zambrano. He has been taking various workshops across India including Kathmandu (Nepal), Ahmedabad, Dahod and Bangalore, teaching contemporary dance. He is forging his way by making a mark and becoming a choreographer himself.

Divieta Sahajwala

Divieta Sahajwala is a professional dancer from India. With training in the classical dance form Odissi (graduating from Mayadhar Raut School of Odissi Dance, New Delhi), contemporary, jazz and classical ballet (The Danceworx Mumbai), a Professional Certification in contemporary/ballet track from Peridance Center New York and ballroom fromFred Astaire franchise where she worked in the New York Midtown branch, she has over eight years of professional performance and teaching experience. Over a period of three years in New York, Sahajwala has worked on pieces by Sue Samuels, Igal Perry, Eryc Taylor and Jeree Wade, and a music video to J Balvin and Badshah’s collaboration track Voodoo among others projects in the field of contemporary dance productions and showcases. She has worked with Ashley Lobo through his company The Danceworx as a performer, academy instructor and academy choreographer. She has represented the company at The Royal Opera House, Mumbai, National Centre forPerforming Arts Mumbai, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival and International Bursa Festival.

Her commercial projects with Lobo include promotional videos for fashion brands such as Mufti Menswear and Label by Ritu Kumar. Sahajwala has also worked with Sumeet Nagdev in India representing his company as a cast member of his production I Am! Am I?, produced by Sumeet Nagdev Dance Arts and commissioned by Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), Mumbai. She was selected for the cast of an original contemporary production of the classic tale Black Beauty, co-directed by Andrea Kramer and Anna Morgan, premiered at Sadler’s Wells, London in July 2023. She was a cast member of India’s largest musical production The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation under the choreographic and movement mentorship of Mayuri Upadhya, produced by NMACC. Sahajwala iscurrently a visiting faculty member at The Danceworx Delhi and Mumbai and continues her performing career in India and internationally.
