Choreographer, dancer, innovator and Beyoncé collaborator, Ivan Michael Blackstock is one to watch.

Now he brings his Olivier Award-winning show TRAPLORD to Manchester. We sat down with Ivan to discuss the origins of the show and the importance of creating space for male friendship and healing.

Plus, Ivan reflects on his hip hop journey – from dancing with Boy Blue and Flawless to starting his own collective Birdgang Dance Company aged 18.

Showing at Aviva Studios from 26 to 29 September, TRAPLORD explores raw themes of mental health and masculinity through an electrifying blend of dance, live music and spoken word.
