See My World

We’re incredibly excited to be supporting See My World a series of live-streamed multicultural, multi-lingual, intergenerational events (15 – 18 October), celebrating PanAfrican Arts and Culture in Manchester, presented by Big People Community CIC.

The festival commemorates the Pan-African Congress held in Manchester 75 years ago, with a long term aim to inspire the creation of a movement to promote and encourage self-determination and self-realisation within the UK’s African diaspora.

In support of the event we have funded three artist residencies for Manchester musicians, Roots Raddix, Chunky and Misha B, culminating in a programme of live performances over the course of the four days. Other performing musicians include SNO, Kemoy B, DJ Silva, Star. One and DJ Darka.

Roots Raddix is a Manchester based music collective comprising of members Woddy Green, LayFullStop, and Zz The Pharaoh. The collective brings a unique sound to the U.K music scene with hiphop neo-soul and RnB elements fused into one sound.

MC, DJ and producer Chunky is a proud Mancunian with roots in Zimbabwe. He is resident MC for SWAMP 81, TRUE TIGER and HESSLE AUDIO as well as for some of Manchester’s most illustrious nights, including the award-winning HIT&RUN, the internationally renowned HOYA:HOYA and the gloriously eccentric RIOT JAZZ.

British singer-songwriter, rapper and recording artist from Manchester’s Moss Side, Misha B rose to fame when she became a semi-finalist in the eighth series of X-Factor in 2011. Her powerful and versatile vocals have led her to international critical acclaim.

Other events include talks, workshops and performances from artists including Lemn Sissay, Akala, Afua Hirsch, SuAndi, David Olusoga, Yusra Warsama and many more.
