Manchester International Festival recognised in the Manchester Culture Awards on Wed 14 October at the Etihad Stadium. 

The awards highlighted individuals, organisations, events and performances across Manchester in honour of the city’s growing cultural footprint, and were organised by Manchester City Council.

Nominated for four awards, we were delighted to receive the awards  for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ and the ‘Best Event’ for our MIF17 opening performance  – ‘What is the City but the people?’ surrounded by a host of nominees.

John McGrath, our Artistic Director and CEO, and Christine Cort, our Managing Director, attended the awards, “It was a privilege to come together to celebrate important cultural moments across our wonderful city. The excitement in the room was palpable and it was genuinely humbling for MIF to receive both.”
