Over the last ten years, MIF has worked closely with other cultural organisations around the world, collaborating creatively and financially to make ambitious, international projects possible and create opportunities for productions to be seen internationally. We are therefore delighted that so many of our shows are currently on tour, with many more still to be announced. Here’s what MIF is up to around the globe…

•    Two of our MIF17 shows have recently gone to Berlin. 10000 Gestures went to Volksbühne for a special performance, A Dancers Day / 10000 Gestures, which featured an interactive rehearsal, communal picnic and a dance piece by MIF11 artist Tino Sehgal, all in a disused airport hangar. Renowned director Thomas Ostermeier’s politically-charged play Returning to Reims received great praise at its German premiere at the Schaubühne on Sunday.

•    At MIF HQ, we’ve been listening to Björk’s new song The Gate on repeat. The exhibition Björk Digital has opened at its 10th city for the Moscow International Biennial and can be found in Poland during October at the Art & Fashion Forum in Poznan which Björk has been involved in co-curating.

•    New Order + Liam Gillick: So it Goes.. sees MIF team up with OGR Torino, Italy’s brand-new 20,000 square meter Innovation Hub + Arts Center in the city of Turin which opens its doors at the end of September.

•    MIF15 highlight Tree of Codes is heading to Australia in October, headlining the Melbourne Festival after Artistic Director Jonathan Holloway booked it immediately upon seeing it at the opening night two years ago.

•    What if Women Ruled the World? will have its Scandinavian premiere at Aarhus – 2017 European city of Culture in November.

•    Akram Khan’s acclaimed Giselle premiered in Manchester a year ago, and you have another chance to experience ‘the emotional power and visual thrill’ (The Times), as it heads to Liverpool Empire Theatre from 25 – 28 Oct, following its sold out, critically acclaimed 2016 tour. And what’s more, it’s going all the way to to Auckland, New Zealand in March of next year.
