Celebrate an exciting new year for Greater Manchester in style at our first gathering of 2023.

We Gather is our very first Factory International social event of 2023. With the launch of our new brand, a new social event and 2023 being the opening of our new home, it feels like a good time to get together.

We Gather picks up the baton from our MIF Social, and we can't wait to gather friends and neighbours, old and new, to connect with one another and celebrate new beginnings with an evening of music, conversation, connection and fun. We’d love to see you there.

Where: Revolution Gallery, Science And Industry Museum, Manchester, Liverpool Rd, M3 4FP

When: Thursday 26 January 2023 at 6–10pm

What: Music, refreshments, conversation. We’ll also be hosting a limited number of First Breath guided tours on the night, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit Luke Jerram’s amazing light installation that celebrates new life across Greater Manchester.

With a few more surprises up our sleeves, we’re hoping it’s going to be a night to connect and enjoy seeing new and familiar faces.

Entry is completely free, you just need to register for a ticket. We’ll provide snacks, plus a drinks token on entry.

Good to know

Please note that we will be capturing photography on the night of the event. These images will be used to share news about our Creative Engagement programme and events across our social media channels, website and press activity.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of our team know on the night or in advance by emailing creativeengagement@factoryinternational.org.

If you would benefit from coming into the space a little early before it becomes busy, please book an Access – Early Entry ticket, and you will be welcome to arrive from 5.30pm.

This event will be BSL interpreted by Tony Redshaw.

Access information

The event takes place in the Revolution Gallery, Level 0, Science and Industry Museum, Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4FP.

The Science and Industry Museum is housed in former industrial buildings in Manchester city centre. The main entrance to the museum is on Liverpool Road, and has step-free access via automatic doors.

Once inside the museum, there is step-free access to all levels. We Gather takes place in the Revolution Gallery, which is on Level 0, just beyond the main reception desk. The flooring is a mix of smooth stone flags and wood. There will be a range of seating in the space.

The Science and Industry Museum has created a Visual Guide where you can see the entrance and reception areas, and the Revolution Gallery.

On the evening of We Gather, it may be crowded in the Revolution Gallery, and we will have music playing at certain times. There will be a chillout space at the far end of the room neat the doors to the Textile Gallery.

There will be a bar at the event, which will have a lowered accessible service point.
