Interiors

Twice a night during MIF07, groups of 20 unsuspecting theatregoers were driven to a quiet suburban house and introduced to Jeffrey Parkin, a nervy individual who bore a striking resemblance to comedian Johnny Vegas. As Parkin showed his home to these prospective house-buyers, his tragicomic failures gradually spilled out in a funny, unsettling yet poignant piece of site-specific theatre. Co-created by Vegas and Stewart Lee, Interiors was presented on BBC Radio 4 five years after its Festival premiere.

‘Fresh, funny and affecting… Vegas is superb’ The Times

‘Sits at the cutting edge – spot on’ The Guardian
