Develop essential skills with Manchester’s top creative companies and cultural organisations.

Our Broadcast and Film Production course will help you gain an accredited qualification : BTEC Introduction to digital media.

Blending practical in-person training with online learning, broadcast and film will teach you about media, production, filming, editing and visual effects(VFX), As well as providing you with the opportunity to improve your employability skills and create footage for Factory Academy.

This full-time course will include:

  • Learn all about Factory International/ MIF23 and what it has to offer
  • Masterclasses, delivered by industry professionals from creative organisations.
  • Accessing the right tools to challenge your critical thinking ability and other aspects of personal development.
  • Challenging you to complete a project brief set by Factory International
  • Networking opportunities, creating contacts that can benefit your future career in broadcast digital, film and TV production.
  • This course will also help you gain an accredited qualification: BTEC Introduction to digital media.

Anyone living in Greater Manchester, aged 19+ and either currently unemployed, on Universal Credit or earning less than £ 20,888

No previous experience is required. All you need is an interest in working behind the scenes in the creative industries.

We are especially keen to hear from those who are underrepresented in our sector. Anyone from Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse communities, as well as people who identify as deaf/hard of hearing, disabled or neurodivergent. We would also appreciate applicants from low income households.

This course is fully funded by Factory International. That’s right. It’s free. We’ll also cover your travel and lunch expenses.
