170,000 new faces are born in Brian Eno’s latest artwork

FACE TO FACE started life with a small group of photographs of real faces – each captured on a single still photograph. Using specially developed software, the image morphs slowly from one real face to another, a pixel-by-pixel process of change. This generates a long chain of ’new humans’ in between each real one.

Brian Eno is a world-renowned musician, visual artist and co-founder of Hard Art – the creative movement behind The Fête of Britain. FACE TO FACE is his latest work to explore unexpected patterns and the possibilities of combination.

The Fête of Britain is a four-day celebration of collaboration and imagination in the face of the great challenges of our time. From the climate crisis to the cost of living, nothing is off the table. The Fête of Britain takes over Aviva Studios from 22 to 25 February 2024. Find out more: The Fête of Britain
