Jimmy Allan

Jimmy Allan is a street and hip hop trained dancer who has been dancing professionally since the age of 10. He was born in Winchester and started training in various street styles around the south coast, excelling in his training and having fun with dance. He joined Boy Blue in 2015 and has been there ever since. This gave him the opportunity to take the next step in dance and further it as a career, and this is where he really found his love for dance. Over the past five years he has been performing at events such as Breaking Convention, and at festivals, arena shows and tours. He also studied dance at college and has two A-levels in dance performance and choreography. His credits include: Ella Henderson, Nathan Dawe, Junior Andre, Misha Gabriel, Reiley, Parris Goebel, Codie Wiggins and Kenrick Sandy.

Kyron Jake Anthony

Kyron Jake Anthony is a professional dancer who has been dancing since the age of seven. He grew up in Oxford, competing with the International Dance Organization to win world and European titles. Since graduating from the University of East London, he has gone on to perform with the likes of Anne-Marie on The Greatest Dancer, support headline artist Stormzy at Reading and Leeds Festival, and perform internationally in Lithuania and at Athens X SNF Nostos festival. He has also been a part of R.E.B.E.L, a Sky Arts film with Boy Blue, and two Hip Hop Theatre productions: Born to Protest, which toured around the UK with Just Us Dance Theatre, and Traplord, an Olivier Award-winning production directed by Ivan Michael Blackstock.

Emily Bajic

Emily Bajic is a graduate of Shockout Arts with an Accelerated BA Hons degree in Professional and Commercial Dance. Her training includes The Lowry Centre for Advanced Training in Dance, 0161 Studios and Shockout Arts. Her TV and campaign credits include: Get Your Future Moving campaign for the University of Salford on E4; the TV advert for Mo Salah x Riyadh Winter Wonderland, Saudi Arabia; Red Bull Formula One racing TV commercial; and modelling for a Move Dancewear / Bloch campaign. Her dance credits include: Unsung Heroes, the curtain raiser to Some Like It Hip Hop from ZooNation – The Kate Prince Company and Mayflower Theatre; I M PACT: Dance Lab at The Lowry; Slow It Down for Dancers Delight Shockout, with choreography by Yasmin Harcourt; MOVE IT 2023 main stage, choreographed by Ainsley Hall Ricketts; Afrobeats Dance Championship with Artillery; Cap St George Hotel and Resort performance, Cyprus.

Nicey Belgrave

Growing up in a household filled with music, Nicey found her interest and passion for music and dance at a young age. Since joining Boy Blue in 2013, she has developed as both an artist and choreographer.

Her professional career has included dance theatre and commercial work performing in Boy Blue productions Blak, Whyte, Gray, REDD, and Project R.E.B.E.L.

She has also embarked on a commercial career with credits including: Glastonbury and Milano Summer Festival with Kendrick Lamar, The BRIT Awards, MOBO Awards, Capital FM Summertime Ball, Rated Awards, BAFTA Awards, commercials for Uber, KFC and Barclays, and alongside artists such as Jungle, Dréya Mac, NAO, Olivia Dean, Jvck James, Stefflon Don, Dua Lipa, Craig David and NSG.

Nicey continued development, along with her keen attention to detail, have aided her as an up-and-coming choreographer, which has seen her assist on the BBC Arts festival, the BAFTA Award-winning mini-series MOOD, and as a mentor and choreographer for Boy Blue Youth and Breakin’ Convention Youth Dance Company.

Kristine Berget

Kristine Berget graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2015 and has since worked in London as a dancer and choreographer. Her recent performance credits include: wire/movement work as Annabel Ward in Lockwood & Co., choreographed by Jennifer White; Big God by Florence and the Machine, choreographed by Akram Khan; R.E.B.E.L. by Boy Blue, choreographed by Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy; and TILT for Panta Rei Danseteater choreographed by Anne Ekenes. In addition to performing, Kristine is a passionate creative, and has recently had the opportunity to do some creative work for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as well as directing her own stage production Calamity at the Paul McCartney Auditorium in Liverpool in June 2023.

Tanaka Bingwa

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tanaka Bingwa migrated to the UK at the age of 10. He later moved from Surrey to further his dance career at the University of East London. Studying Dance: Urban Practice, he developed his knowledge and technique in dance styles varying from contemporary to breaking and hip hop. As a creative artist, he has choreographed pieces in response to immigration and ‘blackness’ today. He went on to graduate with a First Class Degree. 

Some of his credits include performances with renowned artists such as Anne-Marie, Nile Rodgers, Ghetts, Alicaì Harley and Boy Better Know. Tanaka has worked with Hip Hop Theatre company Spoken Movement and is a member of contemporary dance company B-Hybrid Dance. He is an active member of Hip Hop Theatre company Boy Blue and has made a mark in Just Us Dance Theatre’s production Born to Protest

Tanaka has performed on many platforms such as Broadcasting House, headquarters of the BBC, The Greatest Dancer on BBC One, the Barbican Centre and the Adelphi Theatre. As a cast member of the five star, multiple award-nominated production Blak Whyte Gray, Bingwa toured domestically and internationally – also with multiple award-winning Hip Hop Theatre production REDD. Bingwa has aspirations of maintaining a career in Hip Hop Theatre, affecting real social change through his art and one day becoming a university lecturer in dance.

Mark Boyce

Mark Boyce is 30 years old. He has been dancing for 14 years and has trained all over the world, most notably in Los Angeles, Poland, Portugal and China. He is in his second year of study at Shockout Arts, doing a Bachelor’s Degree in hip hop dance vernacular. He is part of a collective known as theafrohouselab, which consists of many artists from around the world who focus their training in the style of Afrohouse and Kuduro. This is the style of dance he is investing most of his time and energy into right now, and hopes to help build a bigger and more thriving Afrohouse community in the UK and especially Manchester. The other styles Mark has trained extensively in are popping, hip hop, house and choreography. He is currently signed with NMZ Talent and his credits include Jorja Smith, Ed Sheeran, Django Django and Kill Miami.

Ellis Brownhill

Ellis Brownhill is known for his style within commercial and hip hop dance. He has worked on TV, performed in West End shows and stared in various films across Europe. He has performed with artists such as Nile Rodgers, Chic, Jonas Blue, Jax Jones, Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, whilst choreographing for artists such as Hrvy and Annie Mac. He has performed in sold out venues including Old Trafford, OVO Arena Wembley and Hammersmith Apollo, as well as many leading theatres. He is trained in all styles of dance and sees himself as a very versatile artist who is always up for new challenges, whilst continuing to perfect his craft.

Jordan Clarke

Jordan Clarke is a hip hop dancer and performer from Crewe in Cheshire, currently living in Manchester city centre. He is 23 years old and has been dancing since he was nine years of age, with a huge passion towards hip hop. He is a graduate from University of East London with a First Class degree in Urban Practice. He has performed and competed across the country in many shows and events, which has led up to where he is today. He is thrilled to be a part of this amazing production, and can’t wait to see what his future holds.

Paris Crossley

Paris Crossley is a movement artist specialising in popping. She has travelled globally to compete, teach and judge at several different street dance events. She is an original member of powerhouse popping crew Fiya House, a freelance performing artist and has worked nationally and internationally with various hip hop and contemporary companies. Most recently, she has also become an Associate Artist for Dance East with whom she will begin to collaborate, build and create her own performance works.

Paris’ work is heavily influenced by her lived experiences, social sciences, political activism and her relationship to nature. She had been working on her first solo piece, Rewiring, which she premiered at the 2022 Resolutions festival and then expanded in her residency with Choreodrome later in the year.

In 2023, Paris completed two consecutive tours with Just Us Dance Theatre and Russell Maliphant before working abroad in Senegal, Montreal and New York.

Kyrah Decoteau

Kyrah Decoteau is a northern-based performer from West Yorkshire, now based in Manchester. Her dance journey began at the age of five in street dance and hip hop. She was later involved in Pan African and Afro Caribbean carnival performances, in which she enjoyed seeing parts of her culture being celebrated. In 2023 she graduated a year yearly with a First Class degree in Professional and Commercial Dance from Manchester performing arts school Shockout Arts. Kyra appeared in Sports Direct’s COMEBACK SZN campaign, and Sarmad Qadeer’s London Bridge music video, and has worked with brand G-SHOCK as well as multiple performances over the years, with many more to come.

Hanna Dimtsu’s training includes Boy Blue and IMD Legion. Her theatre credits include: Mandela (Young Vic); Hex (National Theatre); Once On This Island (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); and Blak Whyte Gray (Teatros del Canal). Her dance credits include: Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits music video; Anne-Marie’s Dysfunctional Tour in the UK and UK festival appearances; J Balvin, Future, Stefflon Don, Juan Magán and MC Fioti’s Bum Bum Tam Tam music video; and AJ x Deno’s music video. Her commercial credits include: Bastille x EE 5G; JD Sports Adidas Originals Nite Jogger launch; Bodyform Viva La Vulva; Currys PC World Gaming; and BT Home Broadband. Her television credits include: Mood (BBC Three).

Emily Dodd

Emily Dodd is a Manchester based artist originally from Northampton, whose early training consisted of tap, modern and ballet. This year she completed her BA Hons from Shockout Arts, where she studied a variety of styles including contemporary, locking, popping and hip hop. She’s also had the opportunity to train with companies such as Definitives, Company Jinks and Fly Company International.

Holly Dunsmore

Holly Dunsmore is a professional dancer, originally from Scotland, now based in Manchester. Holly recently choreographed a feature piece in Parris Goebel’s Royal Family tour and participated as a dancer for Factory International and Boy Blue’s research and development project for Free Your Mind. She has previously danced for the Commonwealth Games, Strictly Kids and The Prince’s Trust. In Manchester, she holds a lecturer position at the Institute for Contemporary Theatre and works with 0161 Studios as part of the in-house staff, holding open classes.

Holly graduated from West College Scotland in 2019 with a Higher National Diploma in Dance and Performing Arts before moving to Manchester to obtain a first class degree in Professional and Commercial Dance from Shockout Arts in 2022.

Annie Joy Edwards

Annie Joy Edwards is a dance artist from Brighton who works in hip hop and contemporary dance, and has been performing and creating work for a number of years. After graduating from London Contemporary Dance School, she has toured internationally with various companies as well as her own creations. Annie’s most recent projects include dancer and rehearsal director for Sadler’s Wells Young Associate Olive Hardy over two years, Last Shelter (Candoco Dance Company), Like Mercury (Houston Dance Collective), Orfeo (Garsington Opera) and Message In A Bottle(ZooNation – The Kate Prince Company). Other credits include: Scottish Ballet, Nowness, Resolution festival, NYDC, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Prime Video) and Random Acts on Channel 4. She is also a co-founding member of Anhelo Collective, and training in house dance with Indahouse London. Alongside performing, teaching and developing work, she explores disability within dance and advocates for disability access in the arts.

Lexi Finch

Lexi Finch is a 21-year-old dancer and creative based in Manchester. Having trained in hip hop and street dance background from the age of nine, her dance has always been about expression, creativity and community. After training in competition teams with The Aim Sky High Company and Element Dance UK from a young age, she progressed into vocational training from Shockout Arts. Here, she completed her BTEC studies in Professional and Commercial dance and is currently studying street and hip hop vernacular dance, learning from a number of leading practitioners. Whilst in training, she was accepted into Company Jinks and has worked with the likes of I M Pact and Sports Direct. Her hopes for the future are to travel the world doing what she loves, meeting like-minded people, whilst continuing to learn more about herself and her art.

Lia Garner

Lia Garner started dancing when she was 11, training in hop hop, house, locking and popping at Anamal Dance Company by Harry Barnes. She soon found a passion for popping and went on to compete and battle in the style. She is a former member of ADC Collective and a current member of Monsterz Crew. Whilst continuing to train in these styles, she is currently studying at Northern School of Contemporary Dance towards a BA for Dance (Contemporary).

Jamie Graham, also known as JG, has been dancing for 12 years, dedicating his life to the art through his love and passion for music and movement. JG has been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest brands and artists across the globe, as well as on TV shows and world tours. These include JD Sports, the Jonas Brothers, Years & Years, MTV Europe Music Awards, The Brits, Spinall and more. He continues to shine through his storytelling abilities and his consistency within the artform. Jamie is very excited to be a part of such a special production and to finally show his storytelling abilities on a larger scale amongst an insanely talented cast.

Alice Grimes is a proud graduate of Shockout Arts where she honed her skills from hip hop to contemporary, ballet and jazz. Alice earned her PGCE and is now a member of the teaching faculty at Shockout. Throughout her early professional journey, Alice has been a supporting dancer for ITV’S Britain’s Got Talent, performed on entertainment shows for Channel 4, a supporting dancer in videos for music artists and has taken part in performances around the United States. Her aspirations extend far within the arts. Alice seeks to conquer new challenges and embrace each opportunity for personal and artistic development.

Ian Harris

Ian Harris started dancing at the age of six in various styles ranging from freestyle disco dance to jazz, ballet, contemporary and hip hop. In 2008, he appeared on the RTÉ series Ballet Chancers. Over years, Ian has travelled internationally, taken classes from and assisted world class choreographers, and has taught in multiple countries such as Israel, Poland, and Singapore. Ian has appeared on week one and the final of The X Factor as well as performing with artists Bebe Rexha, Rudimental, Jack & Jack, Sam Ryder and Rita Ora. More recently, Ian has danced on Eurovision for the interval guest performance.

Lauren ‘Fidget’ Haywood

Lauren Haywood, known as Fidget, has been dancing from the age of nine, starting out with disco and rock and roll, later delving into street dance styles with her main passion being in the world of breaking, where she continues to compete and perform worldwide. Alongside her dance practice, she has her own dance school, Fidget Feet, which has run for 13 years, and most recently she trained as a Personal Trainer. Her credits include Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Amazon Studio), Secret Invasion (Disney+), Footasylum, Glastonbury, CBBC and Crep.

Emma Houston

Emma Houston, aka ‘Shortbread the Breaker’, is a leading movement artist from Scotland working across theatre, commercial, competitive and underground dance scenes. Specialising in breaking, Shortbread is an Elite Squad member of Breaking GB, representing the UK globally ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. They were this year’s finalist at the prestigious Red Bull BC One UK Cypher. Starting their dance journey with hip hop styles, Emma went on to train in Contemporary Dance Theatre at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance and then Trinity Laban in London, where they are now based. A sought-after artist, Emma has performed with ZooNation (Message In A Bottle) and Olivier Award-winning UK Hip Hop Theatre companies Boy Blue (REDD) and Far From the Norm (Union Black). They were also a member of Boadicea, an all-female hip hop group who reached the finals of Sky 1’s Got To Dance in 2012. Emma champions Queer storytelling through their own company Houston Dance Collective. Emma has collaborated with brads such as Adidas, Levi’s and Nike, and appeared in print for ASOS, I Am Hip-Hop Magazine, DIVA and the Hip Hop Dance Almanac.

Raised in Japan, now based in London after relocating to the UK a year ago. Blending various street dances and contemporary dance, cultivated over a decade, infused with a strong sense of pure artistry. Collaborates with a diverse range of artists, incorporating unique movements into work. Kotoha possesses a captivating presence when she dances, delivering dynamic, flowing and intricate isolation movements infused with musicality.

Chase Johnston

Training from a young age in foundational hip hop styles, Chase Johnston began to specialise in breaking. Just before university, he discovered a passion for American Football and decided to change paths, making that his career focus, playing at a high level for the Filton Pride Academy, Manchester, and as a scholar athlete for Leeds Beckett University. When Covid struck, his love for the arts reignited and he began to train at Shockout Arts. He honed his craft whilst also obtaining foundations in core techniques such as jazz and ballet. Besides participating in Free Your Mind, Chase is focusing on his acting career; he was recently featured in a short film highlighting microaggressions towards women for Manchester City Council. Other than this, he loves to learn about cultures from around the world and use this as an influence for his dance.

Anmol Kaur

Anmol Kaur (she/her), brought up in South East London, is a South Asian movement artist specialising in street and contemporary dance forms, with skills in combat. She started her journey aged 14 years with award-winning dance companies ZooNation and Boy Blue, and went on to graduate from London Contemporary Dance School with first class honours. Anmol has performed in theatre productions including Boy Blue’s Blak Whyte Gray at HOME and James Cousins Company’s We Are As Gods. She has worked with music artists such as Little Simz, Anne-Marie, Alexandra Burke, Little Mix, Jonas Brothers and more. Other televised performances include Strictly Come Dancing, the Brit Awards, Michael McIntyre, The Jonathan Ross Show, and Nike. Anmol teaches and creates dance work with young movement artists and continues to express the artistry of street and contemporary styles, influenced by boxing, while exploring the structure of hip hop through multiple lenses.
